I love learning new ways to create and today I am going to teach you my newest obsession, screen printing. Creating a screen is so easy when you use your Cricut Maker! I’m going to walk you step by step on how to create your very own honeymooning tees!
SUPPLIES:
Cricut Maker or Cricut Explore
Cricut Vinyl, any color
Cricut Weeding Tools
Cricut Board
Blank T-shirts
Screen
Squeegee
Spoon
Ink
Parchment Paper
Blue tape
Scissors
Our exclusive, hand-lettered .SVG cut files from our shop! You can find the Wifey & Hubby and the Honeymooning, both for just $1.99 per set!
Grab our Cricut cut files and upload them to your Design Space. Add to your canvas, resize to fit your shirt or other surface, pick any color of vinyl you’re going to use and get to cutting. Don’t forget to mirror the image!
Cut
Let the Cricut do what it’s best at, cut!
Weed
Remove all the lettering from the vinyl. This is opposite of what you would usually do if you were to just use the letter to create an iron on. What should be left is the area around the words.
Apply Transfer Tape
Apply to screen
Tape
Add tape to any areas that the viynl doesn’t cover on the screen so no paint goes through.
Your screen is ready!
Parchment Paper
Cut a piece a little bit larger than your design and put the paper under the teeshirt during application.
Align
For a pocket tee, make sure that the word goes center of the pocket and doesn’t overflow onto the rest of the shirt. For a design that is the enitre front of the shirt make sure that you align the text at the center.
Apply
Use a spoon to put the screen printing ink on the screen. Make sure there is an even layer across the side or bottom. Using the squeege press down and slide over the letters. Do this multiple times until you get the thickness you want.
