It’s DIY Friday and that is cause enough for celebration, but today we’re actually celebrating Cricut’s brand new Premium Permanent Vinyl, that withstands water and washing to make truly permanent personalized items! The new frosted finish turns simple text into what looks like an etched design on these fabulous champagne and wine buckets. Use pre-designed Cricut cut files, our exclusive cut files, or design your own!
Premium Permanent Vinyl, Frosted
For this project I’m using the new Premium Permanent Vinyl in the frosted finish of Gray and White. This vinyl is water resistant, meaning condensation and washing is no problem! Once on the buckets it looks as if the metal has been professionally etched, it’s fabulous! I used the gray frosted finish on the copper and acrylic buckets, and I used the white frosted finish on the silver bucket.

Weed The Design
Weed, aka. remove, all the non-design areas of the vinyl sticker using the piercing tool.
Transfer Tape
Transfer tape is the BEST and if you’ve never used it, you must try it. Basically you transfer your new vinyl stickers from their base to a clear film so you can properly position them on their final resting place. Cut a piece of transfer tape just larger than your design, peel and evenly smooth on top of the vinyl.
Apply To The Buckets
Now carefully peel the transfer tape and your new sticker from the vinyl backing and then place them onto the bucket. Burnish a little and carefully peel the transfer tape off, leaving a perfectly personalized champagne bucket that looks like it’s been professionally etched!
Copper Love
The copper bucket with the frosted gray vinyl turned out to be my favorite! The top of the bucket is silver and so the combination works beautifully. Which one is your fav?
