It’s been so fun to share adorable Carli, our bridal bloggers, wedding and post-wedding thoughts this week… and now I get to share a super fun DIY I created for her wedding! She told me that one of the aspects she was most looking forward to was tearing it up on the dance floor and so I thought it would be fun to light up those shenanigans! So today I’m sharing how I made this darling and simple DIY glow stick bar. It was displayed close to her dance floor and her guests took full advantage of it, especially the kids!
Our FREE printable designs at the end of the post!
Laser Print
I created these printable designs with all black lettering so that you could add metallic foil to them! Print onto any color 8.5″ x 11″ cardstock using a laser printer. The sign is 8″ x 10″ and the tags are each about 1″ x 5″.
Minc Them
Run our designs through your Minc machine with your choice of metallic foil color. Here I used gold on white paper… but you can do any color combination you’d like.
If you aren’t familiar with the metallic foiling technique please check out this post where I share all the details! It’s fabulous!
Cut The Tags
Cut out each of the tags and trim the sign down to 8×10.
Adhere The Tags
Using a glue stick or the like, add the tags to each of the glass jars that will hold your different types of glow sticks.
Some Assembly Required
For the glow necklaces and the bracelets, you’ll need to push the little clear adapter onto one end so that your guests can crack them, put them together and then wear them. I added 50″ twine strands to the glow sticks so guests could wear them as necklaces. The glasses also required a little bit of assembly. Just keep in mind that you can’t bend them at all or else they’ll start to glow!
Set Up Your Display
Create a little display close to the dance floor and as the lights go down, crack a few glow sticks to draw attention to it. Then enjoy the vibrant dance floor!
