Hoooraay and happy Monday! Today this the start of our 2nd annual DIY Favor Week. We found that creative internet peeps everywhere stop by Something Turquoise during the holidays to make our DIY favors as holiday gifts… so we’re making it easy on you this week! Every day we’ll be sharing a fun + fresh new favor/gift project that is not only perfect for weddings but also fabulous for the holidays. Check back each day to see what gifts you might be able to cross off your list this year, while having a little creative fun. Handmade gifts always mean a little more than something store-bought, yea, I said it and you know it’s true! First up, personalized wine tumblers… of course, I had to make one for myself. Cheers!
Wedding or Holiday
These darling wine tumblers would make perfect bridal party or bachelorette party gifts, especially if you’re planning to spend some time drinking somewhere that you can’t have glass. My only piece of advice is to refrain from using “bridesmaid”, “groomsmen”, “maid of honor” so that your friends will actually keep these tumblers and use them after your wedding. Also, they won’t get mixed up if you put their names on them. As for the holidays, anyone on your list that enjoys their wine would love one of these cute gifts!
SUPPLIES:
Wine Tumblers
Cricut Explore or Cricut Maker
Cricut Vinyl
Cricut Transfer Tape
Twine
Create Your Design
Open Design Space and create your custom wine tumbler designs. If using multiple colors of vinyl it’s best to color code each design to keep your cutting mats organized. I used Watermelon Script for the tumblers pictured here.
Weld
To make text cut as one solid sticker piece you have to select the word or letters and hit weld at the bottom of the layers panel before you cut.

Weed
Weed (remove) all the excess vinyl sticker that isn’t part of your design. Then add a piece of transfer tape to the top of your new vinyl sticker.
Adhere
Remove the backing from the vinyl sticker, leaving the front of it stuck to the transfer tape and place it on the tumbler. Give it a quick pass with the scraper to make sure it’s completely adhered. Then remove the transfer tape!
Transfer Tape
While you don’t need to use the transfer tape it really, really helps the transition of the vinyl sticker from paper backing to your item of choice. It keeps your design in place will keeping pulling and ripping to a minimum. Transfer tape is your friend.
Add Some Wine
Either tie a cute mini bottle of wine to the lid or place it inside the tumbler and add a bow. Pick your poison and gift away!
Love The Lid
These wine tumblers are great for the park, beach, pool or even on a boat… anywhere that glass isn’t the best idea. The lid keeps debris out of your wine and will help prevent spilling if you’ve had a bit too much, lol.
Walking around to see Christmas lights? Fill up your glass. Relaxing by the pool on your bachelorette weekend? Fill up your glass. On the couch and have a tendency to spill? Fill up your glass!
Hand Wash Only
The Cricut vinyl will stick to these tumblers wonderfully and can last through many, many washings – but it must be done by hand. In fact, the tumblers are wash by hand only anyway… so just make sure the recipient knows!
