It’s no secret that I love wine + parties… so naturally I am fond of super cute wine charms. I wanted to create a project that was perfect for your bridal shower or bachelorette party and so the Barbie Shoe Wine Charm was born. I’m in love with these for so many different reasons. They are freaking adorable, every girl loves shoes, the colors and styles available are awesome, they bring back such fun childhood memories and they are light – so they won’t cling-clang and almost break your glass as you are drinking. Now, I only wish I would have kept all my old barbie stuff, lol. You can make up a set to use and keep for your wedding events or you can make them and give them as favors. Today’s project is a two-parter, first I’m sharing how to make the wine charm itself (with a video!) and then I’m sharing how you can give them as gifts, with free download designs of course! SUPPLIES:

• Barbie Shoes
• 2mm – 3mm Beads
• 3mm Daisy Spacer Beads
• 2″ – 24 gauge Head Pins
• Open Wine Charm Wires
• Wire Cutters, Round Nose Pliers, Small Pliers

Finding Barbie Shoes:

You can find Barbie shoes many different places; at a garage sale, at a thrift store, on Ebay, you can buy new ones at Target or maybe you have some from childhood in your closet. I had no luck in my search until I came across Zoes Barbie Shoes on Etsy. Can you say, wow? I had no idea that barbie shoe jewelry was a thing but it clearly is and Matthew the designer rocks it hard. I found this beautiful bracelet with gorgeous colors in all the same style of shoe, which is exactly what I was looking for so I bought it with delight! As much as it pains me to dismantle another’s work of art, I think Matthew would approve :-)

The great thing about buying them like I did, was each shoe already had the perfect hole in it! If you already have shoes, all you need to do is take a large needle and press it through the heel of the heel to make the hole for your charm, pretty simple.

I decided to jump out of my comfort zone and record a short video for you so that you could really see how easy these darling wine charms are to make. Please let me know it you like it and maybe I’ll start making more!

Now that you have made your adorable Barbie Shoe wine charms, we are ready to attach them to cute cards so you can gift them to your bridesmaids and other lovely ladies!

SUPPLIES:

• 8.5″ x 11″ Cardstock
• A2 Sized Envelopes
• Regular Printer Paper
• Large Needle
• Adhesive
• Scissors
• Hand Towel
• Free download designs at the end of the post!

Print the card design onto your choice of 8.5″ x 11″ light colored cardstock, then trim around the designs – there are two per sheet.

With your card on top of a folded hand towel, pierce two holes on either side of the wine glass about 1/2″ under the glass design. Kind of wiggle the needle (or paper piercer like I’m using) a bit to widen the holes and then insert the charm. Latch the charm on the back of the card and you are ready to gift!

Line Your Envelope

If you’d like to line your envelope, it’s really simple to do. Start by printing our envelope liner design onto regular printer paper. Trace the top of your envelope with about 3″ of space below. Trim it about 1/4″ smaller than your trace line and slide into the envelope. Glue the top of the liner to the flap of your envelope with your favorite adhesive; easy right?

In the pink “wine” area you could add the name of the recipient… such a fun treat for any bridal shower or bachelorette party.
