DIY | Mini-Wine Bottle Favors

I love wine and I love making favors, so this little project is a match made in heaven for me. I also love mini-things, who doesn’t… and those bows, adorable right?? Aside from the fact that I love my wine, I’m also celebrating something here at ST – it’s my 4 year blog anniversary tomorrow! Four long years of writing, creating and sharing my thoughts here and I’m so grateful that you have given me the opportunity to do so. I could go on and on but I won’t, I’m saving that for tomorrow!

For these mini-wine bottle wedding favors I really wanted to design free editable labels for you. But the problem is the fonts available and the fact that ya’ll get so creative that you don’t really need my design anyway. So, I found a solution. I’m providing 4 free downloads of blank labels that are perfectly sized to fit these mini-wine bottles from Sutter Home and they are ready for you to personalize! Maybe not the fanciest wine, but not the cheapest either, and when giving favors the price adds up quickly so I tried to pick one that was affordable on a large scale and would look cute too. I give loads of tips here on how I designed the label itself, so even if you want to recreate it exactly how I made them, you can. And the darling bows were cut using my Cricut Explore and an awesome bow design from my fab-blogger friend Lia Griffith. Cheers to wine, weddings and blogging and everything! Happy DIY Friday friends!

Personalize Your Label

Download our free label design below and add text that fits your event! Here I’m sharing exactly what font and size I used to create this design that is supposed to mock the Sutter Home label. I did this in Adobe Acrobat.

Sutter Home makes like 10 different varietals of mini-wine, so if it’s beyond these you’ll need to come up with your own wedding “pun” varietal!

The label is designed for you to cut it out with about an 1/8″ white border. At this size I’m much more precise with scissors than a paper trimmer, but the choice is yours.

How to make these bows:

These bow designs are from the amazingly talented, paper-queen Lia Griffith. She offers this design as a free download that you can then upload to Cricut’s Design Space and cut with your Cricut Explore. She also has a print and cut file, so if you don’t have a Cricut, you can print out her file and trace them onto any color of paper you please!

I used the bow that was second to the smallest size; unfolded it’s 4 3/8″ wide.

For the band that wraps around the wine bottle neck I cut a rectangle at 1/2″ x 3 1/4″.

Using glue dots or hot glue, adhere the band to each wine bottle neck.

Take the bow tails and add two glue dots to the back and one to the front, then adhere to the bottle neck band.

Ok, so now your wine bottle neck is wrapped and you have the bow tails on the neck band with one glue dot on the front – this is so that it’s SUPER easy to add the next part of the bow.

***I figured all this out so that it limits the amount of pressure you put on your paper bow, resulting in it looking it’s best.

Next, using glue dots or hot glue fold both ends of the bow in and secure. Then add a rhinestone to finish. Press onto the glue dot that is on the bottle neck and you are finished!

***some heavy cardstock will fight the Glue Dots, so using hot glue is better!

Since Sutter Home makes so many mini-wine varietals, and I wasn’t about to try and tackle designing a label for all of them, I made a version for you in black and gray just in case you didn’t want color :-)
