HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!! Today is my absolute favorite holiday. Probably because this is where my families creativity was at it’s best. As early as I can remember halloween was a huge deal – our costumes were always handmade and outrageous. My mom would start making them a few months in advance even. They were so good that they’d win contests. One time I was a fairy and my dad welded wings for me – no joke. Insane amounts of creativity + the country united for a night + candy = who doesn’t love it?? Today’s DIY is a stretch from the norm but if you are planning a halloween or fall wedding – it might be just what you’ve been looking for. Either way – happy best holiday ever!

SUPPLIES:

• fake white pumpkins (or paint orange ones!)
• Sharpies
• Martha Stewart Crafts Thick Coat Finish Decoupage Glue
• Glitter
• Paint brush

Start by glittering your pumpkin stems. Here I’m using the Martha Stewart Crafts “thick coat finish” decoupage glue because it really holds onto the large chunks of glitter.

Then add your glitter to the wet decoupage glue.

Fill in every nook and cranny with glitter.

The last step is to seal the glitter – so you don’t loose a sparkle. Just one coat of the thick coat finish will do. If you are using a regular finish you might need two coats.

Trace your ‘guest book sign’ design onto your smaller pumpkin.

Then create your design with a Sharpie.

Set up a super cute table at your fall themed reception with all the necessities…

…and let your guests sign away!

At the end of your event you will have a very special fall decor piece that you can bring out to decorate your home year after year!

CRAFTERS TIP: to ensure that your signatures stay forever, seal with a clear enamel spray paint.
