I love making my own jewelry but sometimes it’s quite a bit of work! This project however is extremely easy and perfect for any level of DIY-er! These earrings would be a wonderful gift for your bridal party… or fantastic to wear to any special wedding event that is on your horizon!
Supplies: piece of felt or other material to work on, ruler, round lipstick (or other cylindrical type object), mini pliers, mini wire cutter, silver (or gold!) ear wire with the type loop end, and the link chain of your choice. Using my length guide you will only need one package of chain like below, however the ear wire package you can get 5 pairs of earrings from!
Start by creating a round ear wire. Hold the loop end against the lipstick with one hand, with the pliers in the other – guide the wire around the lipstick to form a circle. Press the wire against the lipstick with your thumb for a firm circle. I like to work over a piece of felt because my beads, wire and chain won’t roll off the table…
Now cut all your lengths of chain…
Here is the chain length guide, but you can make yours any length you choose!
For each earring there are 11 pieces of cut chain, again – you can do as many as you like!
Start adding the chain pieces onto your circle ear wire, one by one…
Until it creates the beautiful waterfall of chain!!!
The last step is to bend the end of the ear wire backwards so that your earring circle stays closed and you won’t loose any chain pieces.
If the ear wire circle gets a funky shape, gently bend and pull it back into a circle.
That’s it! This is such a quick and easy project… and would make a wonderful gift!
