Summer is coming to an end and we’re gearing up for school so you know what that means – it’s time for new school supplies! Seriously buying school supplies is the best and now that I have kids it’s even more fun. My oldest is going into first grade and we’ve been labeling all of her new supplies using my Canon IVY Mini Photo Printer. For her folders, notebooks, and pencil box we did a mix of cute and silly photos of her, along with contact info for her notebook… so I figured you guys might like this idea too! It’s terrific for any age as they can truly customize the “label” by making it a photo of literally anything; themselves, their folder, a favorite photo, the sky is the limit. And like I’m always saying, the ZINK photo paper prints are the stickiest stickers, making them absolutely perfect to stick on school supplies of all kinds!
You can watch me decorate these supplies on our Instagram REELS!
Mini Print App
If you haven’t already, you’ll need to download the Canon Mini Print App, it’s how you communicate with the IVY printers. It’s fantastic because you can print any photo on your smartphone or from your social channels, you can add filters, text, stickers, borders, and more right within the app! You can even take new photos in the app like I did for this project.
Take A Photo
I like things matchy-matchy so I took a photo of this folder to create the label. I opened my Canon Mini-Print app and clicked “snap a shot” to take the photo right within the app to create a cool, matching background for my label sticker. Then I used the filters and added the text too. All that was left was to print!
Peel + Stick
All Canon IVY prints are stickers! So all I had to do was peel and stick my new custom label onto the folder, super easy.
Pre-Cut Circle Stickers
The ZINK Pre-cut Circle Stickers might be my favorite, they are just so darn cute. Here I did a mix of taking photos of the folder details, I used stickers in the app (the ones that I designed here), and then the balloon letter alphabets from the app too. All put together on the front of a new journal…
In-App Text + Stickers
It’s super, super easy to add text, borders, and fun stickers to your prints in the Canon Mini Print app. Adding your name and contact info on certain school supplies is an absolute must these days and this a perfect way to do it.
On-The-Go
Your Canon IVY can go anywhere that you go! Keep it in your backpack for on-the-go printing and a box of ZINK paper too. You never know when the need to print a special photo will arise, but when it does you’ll be ready.
