NEW Something Turquoise Craft Studio Reveal + Giveaway!

Back in May, I was fortunate enough to be able to purchase the most darling little home, in my hometown of Long Beach, California. It’s a very unique two-story built in 1920 and it has no stairs on the inside – so it’s essentially two units which made the ultimate canvas for my special situation. A lovely home upstairs and my fabulous business downstairs means my work commute is about 20 steps outside and it’s been a dream. I’ve been working my creative little tush off for the past few months and I’m so honored and excited to finally be able to share my new Craft Studio with you today!

In Celebration You Could Win…

In celebration of my new space being finished, one lucky Something Turquoise reader is going to win a dream crafting bundle of the new Circut Maker and my favorite printer, the Canon iP8720. Hooorayyy!!! Contest ends Sunday, December 10th, 2017 at midnight so enter now below!

Huge congratulations to Elana N. of South Carolina for being our winner!

How’s This For A Before And After?

Ugh. My entire body cringes when I see those old pictures of my home, but I’m thankful that I had the vision for this space…

WOW, this before and after Craft Room change is amazing!

Form + Function

Just like my first craft room, this space was designed around form and function. I truly enjoy having a place for everything and keeping everything in it’s place. So I literally designated a space for everything, or at least all my most special tools and supplies.

Wow, look at all those perfectly organized Martha Stewart Craft paints!

Stand Up Desk For The Win

I’m an active crafter and maker. I’m up, down, at the computer, in my supplies, at my printer, back to supplies, at my Cricut, to the trash, etc. Sitting down isn’t exactly conducive to the way I work so I found an awesome stand up desk at Costco and painted the legs copper! It has 4 programable heights so I have one saved for sitting and standing and a few in between.

The Printer Cabinet

If you’ve been following my blog for some time, you know how much I love to print. Having my printers easily accessible along with my paper was a must for my space. So I turned the closet into what I call my printer cabinet. I lined the alcove with some flashy wallpaper, built shelves to fit and now can easily bounce back and forth while designing and printing!

Cricut Supplies

My Cricut Maker is my main crafting tool and so having dedicated space for it, also my Cricut Explore and all the supplies was a must. This Ikea shelving unit and magazine holders was perfect for all my cutting supplies and more!

Props + Shooting

This is where the magic happens. In the next room, just beyond my office is my studio space. Where I have multiple shooting locations and all the props a wedding blogger could ever need, complete with 3 wedding dresses of course!

Peel + Stick

The entire space was in desperate need of a new floor but I was working with cement and tile, yuck. So I opted for the quick and easy change and did peel and stick laminate planks on top of both! They were only $0.99 each and while the herringbone pattern did take more time and effort, it was by far worth it in the end! The floor is one of my favorite parts of the entire space.

Natural Light Always Wins

Taking advantage of all the windows and the amazing light around my house was a must for shooting my projects. All photographers will tell you that natural light is always the best.

Very Special Thanks

First off, to my Dad John (aka. Papa Turquoise), who worked and laughed with me for months on end getting this place polished and perfect. Thank you for your encouragement through all my thoughts and dreams, it honestly wouldn’t have been possible without you, I love you to the moon and back JC. Next up, to my sweet Ben Bourque, you pushed me to be extra and constantly added tasks to my to-do list. This space wouldn’t be nearly as chic without you and I love you dearly for it. And to my Mom, my Aunt Emily, Diane, Amanda, Julia, and Shea for being extra special to me and helping through many different aspects of this space, I feel you all in it. To my amazing brand partners; Cricut, Canon, American Crafts, BHLDN, Glue Dots, Fiskars, Martha Stewart and more, working with you is my dream come true. I am eternally grateful to you all. xoxo.
