I am Carli Hein from Hein & Dandy, and SURPRISE! I’m having another baby in June! Of course, one of my first thought was how can I make the cutest DIY to tell everyone! Big sibling sweatshirts are everywhere but I wanted mine to be customized. The best part about this free Cricut cut file is that I matched whatever big you need to a little. I made a big sister sweatshirt for Bria and once I find out what I’m having, I’ll cut out the little sister or little brother to make a onsie! Let’s get started on making your new big sibling the announcement sweatshirt of your dreams!
SUPPLIES:
Baby Sweatshirt
Cricut
Cricut Tools
Cricut Mat
Cricut Iron-on
Cricut Easy Press
FREE Cricut cut files at the end of the post
Create in Design Space
Go to the end of this post and download the FREE Cricut cut files for this project. Download the .png file into your design space. I got a 12 month old sweatshirt and the chest measured 8 inches. Measure out the width of the chest of the size sweatshirt you choose and align from there.
This is an iron-on so make sure to mirror your image before cutting. Load the mat with the shiny side facing the down on the mat. Click iron-on vinyl and start cutting!
Weed the Design
Peel off the parts that you do not want to be ironed on, leaving just the words on the plastic.
Easy Press
Heat your easy press for the exact time and temperature to your fabric. This sweatshirt is a cotton/polyester blend. Cricut tells us that we should heat our Easy Press to 315 degrees and apply light pressure for 15 seconds.
The big reveal
Put the sweatshirt on your big sibling to tell the ones you love that you are expecting! My favorite story from this sweatshirt was going to pick up my brother from the airport. He had just served in the US military over seas for a year and he hadn’t even met Bria yet. We asked him if he liked Bria’s sweatshirt and he said yes but it took him a second to realize what it said! He was so excited!
