Now that I’m a mom, early mornings are a daily occurrence. However, I have absolutely no interest in getting up even earlier to drive downtown LA to the flower mart to buy my flowers. Fall Is The Best

Ok, I know, I already said that fall is my favorite but I just have to say it again. Fall is the best and your special event needs this special fall bouquet bar! Most flower bar ideas are all for spring time – why is the fall getting left out when there are so many fabulous fall flowers? Not anymore!

Delivery + Rehydration

Since FiftyFlowers is a farm to customer, wholesale flower company, it means that your flowers are shipped straight to you from the farm and they will arrive in large cardboard boxes…

• Using hardware store buckets, fill them up 1/4 of the way with water, make sure they are clean to start with.
• Carefully unbox and un-package your flowers, per the instructions from FiftyFlowers.
• Each flower is different and their team can walk you through the prep for each flower if needed.
• It is 100% normal for your flowers to look a bit tired and lifeless, they’ve been on a long journey to you.
• Give each stem a fresh diagonal cut and place in the water to rehydrate for 4-12 hours.
• Keep out of the heat and sun while rehydrating.
• Replace the water every 24 hours leading up to your event for optimal freshness.

Create Your Display

You’ll want to use a 6-8 foot banquet table or a small 3 foot table like this accompanied by a cocktail table. You’ll need:

• Large vases/buckets for the flowers
• A vase or two for decorative arrangements
• Tissue Paper
• Scissors
• Twine
• Sign
• Pumpkins

Not Water Tight

While these french style flower buckets are pretty, they were not water tight. So inside are clear vases like these full of water.

Simple Set Up

Let the flowers really shine by not over-doing it with the display. This also reduces work and expense on your part. I’d rather provide more pretty flowers and less “decor” for my guests – since the flower are the decor themselves. After time the full look of the bar will diminish but your guests tables will be full of flowers!

Bouquet Bar Sign

I used my Cricut to create this easy wooden sign. First I cut and sanded the wood board and then added a thin layer of cream spray paint and sanded it again. I cut the lettering out of this Red Coral stainless foil vinyl and applied it using transfer tape. It was too big to cut all as one piece so I broke up the word bouquet. Tallest In The Back

Arrange your flower display with the tallest blooms in the back. Give them all a fresh stem cut before the event and pull off any unwanted leaves.

Let Your Guests Have Fun

Encourage each guest to go make a bouquet for themselves! Keep extra flowers in hardware store buckets to replenish when needed. Have guests wrap their own bouquets in tissue and twine, just like a stylist would do at your local flower shop.

Bar Bystander

If you can’t keep an eye on the bar, designate a friend to do so just in case someone needs help. A bucket could get knocked over, someone might need help tying their twine, you might need more flowers, etc. Also towards the end of your event if you still have flowers, encourage everyone to take some more… no one will complain about that, hahaha.

Take Guest Photos

Snap photos of your guests handmade bouquets here and there, if you can. They’ll all be so differently beautiful and they’ll be fun photos to look back on. So whether it’s your wedding, bridal shower, baby shower, or a women’s event, this will be a fabulous idea that your guests are sure to thoroughly enjoy!
