First things first, these are not “cute” in any way, shape, or form. However, the functionality is exceptional. A reading teacher told me that a wonderful way to give a little boost to your new reader is to literally label everything in the house. They already know all the words, they are super familiar with the items, so once they can visualize the words, magic can happen. So that’s what I did. I found a font that was easy to read (this is harder than you think! fancy looking “a”, “g”, and “t” can easily throw littles off) and I just walked around the house typing out every item. I’ve added some items to the list that aren’t in our home, but might be in yours, and the ones you don’t need, just skip. It took us four days to get all the words up and the kids had so much fun. Now we walk around the house reading the words to everything, which is simply fantastic.
You can watch me make these labels on our Instagram REELS, it was super cute!
